Beginning 9/15, tickets for minor offenses such as speeding up 20 mph over the limit, running a stop sign or making illegal turn will carry a $120 penalty, up from $75, under rates set by the Illinois Supreme Court. The cost of many tickets requiring a court date, like speeding more than 30 mph over the limit, also will go up.
The increase in fines may seem expensive to the drivers but I wish they would do the same thing in my country. Maybe it can stop traffic terror and drivers can be more cautious.
